The project includes the construction of additional production and infrastructure facilities to meet Lukoil Mid-East’s production target of 800 kBOPD per day at the West Qurna-2 field.
The West Qurna-2 field is located in the southeastern part of Iraq, 64 km west of Basra and 32 km southwest of the Zubair Oil Field.
The West Qurna-2 area includes the lower reaches of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and the Shatt Al Arab River at their confluence. The area is broadly defined as a low plateau with elevations ranging from 5 to 50 m and is located in the northernmost part of the Rumaila Field.
The project generally consists of the following sub-sections:
- Expansion of existing 6 Well-pads (numbered 2, 5, 7, 8, I0 and 12) by connecting 52 wells
- Connection of 2 water injection wells to well-pad-7 and well-pad-8
- Connecting well WQ-8 to the manifold in existing well-pad 2
- Connecting well WQ-148 to the manifold in existing well-pad 7
CP Scope:
