Within the scope of the Arctic LNG 2 Project, it is planned to construct a comprehensive terminal for the production, storage and offloading of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and stabilized gas (SGC).
The facilities to be constructed will be located on 3 Gravity Based Structures (GBS) and the structure will be located close to the sea in order to ensure optimum unloading operations of LNG and stabilized gases stored in the facility to LNG carriers and tankers.
Within the scope of the Project, there are 3 GBS (Gravity Based Structure), each with a capacity of 6.5-6.6 MTPA LNG. The facility has a total LNG storage volume of 687,000 m3 (229,000 m3 per GBS) and 75,000 m3 of condensed gas storage volume.
The GBSs will be produced at the NOVATEK MURMANSK Plant located near the village of Belokamenka (Murmansk Region).
The modules on the upper elevation of the building will be produced in local or international production sites and will be integrated into the system in the GBSs located in NOVATEK MURMANSK Facilities.
CP Scope:
Galvanic system has been selected for the cathodic protection of the reinforcements in contact with seawater in the GBS structures. Considering the seawater resistivity in the region, the anodes in the galvanic system to be installed will be zinc alloy. Kortek’s contract within the scope of the related project is the supply of a total of 1200 tons of Zinc Alloy Galvanic anodes for 3 GBS, the production and shipment of galvanic anodes for 2 GBS has been completed and the production of anodes for the remaining 1 GBS is ongoing.
